Man United and Arsenal target could leave Atletico Madrid

first_img1 Alessio Cerci Manchester United and Arsenal have been put on red alert after Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone opened the door for Alessio Cerci to leave the La Liga champions in January. Both Louis van Gaal and Arsene Wenger have been linked with a move for the Italian winger who earned rave reviews at Torino last season. But following his move to Spain during the summer, Cerci has suffered a nightmare spell in Madrid and has struggled to command a regular first-team place.Simeone has now stated that he is not giving the talented winger the playing time he should be getting at a top club and is refusing to rule out a move when the transfer window re-opens.Cerci only joined Atletico Madrid during the summer for £13m but will be desperate to get his career back on track.Simeone said: “It is not easy. We have so many internationals in the squad. I am the coach and at the moment unfortunately I am not giving Alessio the time he deserves, but I have to look at what is best for the team.“Could Cerci leave in January? You’d have to ask the sporting directors, as they are the ones who work in this area.”last_img read more
