Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini, reminded about the upcoming 25th anniversary of his tragic lightweight title fight victory over Duk Koo Kim that left his opponent dead four days later, has politely refused to speak about the bout. “Anniversaries are supposed to be for celebration,” he told the Daily News. “What’s to celebrate?” On Nov. 13, 1982, Mancini stopped Kim in the 14th round of a brutal fight. After Kim died from brain injuries, Kim’s mother and the fight’s referee, Richard Greene, committed suicide. Mancini, from Youngstown, Ohio, has lived in Santa Monica the past 21 years. Now 45, he retired in 1992. … Vic Darchinyan (27-0, 21 KOs) of Australia via Armenia will fight Mexico’s Victor Burgos on the undercard of the March 3 super bantamweight title fight between Israel Vazquez and Rafael Marquez at the Home Depot Center in Carson. Gary Shaw, Darchinyan’s promoter, can’t say enough about Darchinyan, the International Boxing Federation flyweight champion nicknamed “Raging Bull.” “Darchinyan’s style is what makes him exciting,” Shaw said. “When he puts his hands down and goes into his ‘Raging Bull’ (routine), he walks with his chest out and his chin out, daring people. He is just a dream. CANOGA PARK – A man was killed and two others were injured in a stabbing outside a local bar early this morning, police said. The fight broke out at about 2 a.m. outside Blarney Cove on 22105 Roscoe Boulevard, Los Angeles Police Lt. Vincent Neglia said. The cause was unclear. David Correa, 28, of Woodland Hills, was wounded in the neck and was taken to an area hospital, where he died, said Lt. Joe Bale of the county coroner’s office. The conditions of the other two victims were not immediately known.
