Bishop Bill Michael Daniel at the Windsor Park Stadium in November 2012 for the Meritorious Service Award (file photo)Bishop of the People’s Pentecostal Family Church (PPFC) in Goodwill, Michael Bill Daniel has died.Bishop Daniel, who had been battling cancer for some time, succumbed sometime this morning.Bishop Daniel was also the president of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies (PAWI) and president of the Dominica Evangelical Association.In 2012, he was awarded a Meritorious Service Award for his ministry to the citizenry of the Commonwealth of Dominica.Bishop Daniel started preaching the Gospel at the tender age of 14 years and was ordained to the Ministry in 1994.He served as the Lay Pastor of St. Joseph, Wotten Waven and Morne Prosper Pentecostal Churches during the period 1977 to 1978.Subsequently, he became the full time Pastor of the Cochrane Pentecostal Church for 22 years from 1979 to 2001.He had been providing ministry as Senior Pastor of the largest Evangelical Church on the Island, the People’s Pentecostal Family Church from 2001.He was also privileged to serve as follows:• Presiding Bishop of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies Dominica District from 2000 to date.• Member of the General Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies from 2000 to date.• President of Dominica Association of Evangelical Churches from 2006 to date.• General Secretary of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies Dominica District from 1984 to1999Some of his achievements:-• He was instrumental in constructing a state of the art playground for the youth in the community of Stock Farm with the assistance of friends abroad and in collaboration with the People’s Pentecostal Family Church.• He established a School Feeding program in collaboration with the People’s Pentecostal Family Church for the students of the Goodwill Primary School.• He is founder and Director of the PPPF Shepherd’s Care Social Ministry which is involved in the distribution of food, clothing and providing health care services.• His ministry to the citizenry and to the Commonwealth of Dominica as a whole has been invaluable and ongoing for the past 35 years.Bishop Daniel, who touched the lives of many individuals through his ministry, has been described as “a great man who will be missed by many.Dominica Vibes Newslast_img read more

Syracuse’s loss to Cornell was the Orange’s fourth loss in its last six nonconference games.Maryland remained the nation’s top-ranked team and four of the five ACC teams stayed in the top 20 with Duke (No. 3), Virginia (No. 13) and Notre Dame (No. 15).Syracuse will continue its nonconference slate on Saturday against No. 14 Navy.
